Weather, Pollard, Hanukkah

“And for the miracles, and for the salvation, and for the mighty deeds, and for the victories, and for the battles which You performed for our forefathers in those days, at this season.”   

Bad weather at this time of year; from Seattle to Boston and Bangor it’s been brutal. But Judaism teaches that out of darkness, light and that the ultimate light is the Creator of light: “Zarach ba’choshekh Ohr la’yisharim.” The prophet tells us that “toward evening, there will be light” a promise very welcome in these days of dread and gathering darkness. It is the season of Hanukkah, — of miracles, victories and light reminding us of the Source of light and His distinctive qualities: Chanun, v’Rachum v’Tzaddik[1].

Human beings are meant to aspire to these qualities to draw near to their Source and unique strengths. (more…)

Weather Bug Bites Jerusalem

“The Past was erased, the erasure was forgotten and, the lie became truth.” [1]

Against your nation they plot deviously, they take counsel against those sheltered by You. They said, ‘come, let us cut them off from nationhood that Israel’s name not be remembered anymore” (Psalm 83: 4-5). 

Who would think that a seemingly simple, ‘just the facts’ service like the online www.weather.bug.com would be used to reinforce the a-historical, identity-theft agenda of Edom and Ishmael, with Edom, as always, providing the technology, oversight and schemes to efface Israel and the providence of the Creator. They overlook nothing in building a new false world as a look at the site shows. (more…)

Quartet for Five Hands, or is it Six?

And Esav took Machalat the daughter of Yishmael…He went to Yishmael and said to him, ‘let us join together, I and you and we will rule the whole world.

The focus of modern geopolitics gives credence to written Torah and commentary by old masters. The focus is the dismemberment of Israel – Ya’akov – cutting the Jewish people off from their holiest places and heartland. If the powers truly seek peace and prosperity this is irrational but “they are drunk, and not with wine.” Moreover, their madness, sold by the media that chants it into ‘fact’ cloaks an otherwise obvious anomaly: the Quartet is not a foursome but has five players, albeit the fifth is partly disguised, “the better to eat you with, my dear…”
