Iran Politics Partisan, Treacherous and Craven
The President of Iran is visiting the United States again to speak at that entity in Manhattan termed “the United Nations.” That Mr. Ahmadinejad can visit America at all means that the diplomatic, intelligence and military top echelons want him here. If he is not arrested and prosecuted for promoting genocide it is because they do not want him to be; he serves various purposes for them (search Iran on this archive).
Although 60-70% of Iranians polled by Iranians in person and by telephone show that they want Admadinejad deposed and more than 50% by a foreign invasion, successive American regimes, the eternal diplomatic-intelligence world-scramblers prefer to “talk” with him and use Iran in the games of dialectical attrition that is there means of making and breaking nations on the way to a world collective, a new feudalism. But here we focus on a specific small but vital vector of this force.
A demonstration against the presence of this wannabe Hitler is being held on Monday, September 22. Many Americans want Ahmadinejad to be arrested and indicted and, sotto voce, the House of Saud and all the Gulf States also want him to be deposed. Chief among the many organizers of the rally is the ponderously titled “Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations” whose access to power and massive fund-raising is inversely proportionate to its chirps for Israel’s sovereignty and strength. Its feeble, multicultural approach to the Middle East, its toadying to the White House, its sell-out of Israel insures its access and a platform for its “Presidents.”
The Conference of Presidents, headed by Malcolm Hoenlein invited Senator Hillary Clinton to the event, a ‘fat pitch’ for her, a ‘no-brainer.’ And Clinton was planning to attend until the Governor of Alaska and Republican candidate for Vice President, Sarah Palin also accepted an invitation to take part. This bipartisan balance, potential loss of face time and inevitable comparisons to a younger, prettier, more grassroots popular and successful candidate was too much for Hillary whose self-image is far, far more important to her than the lives of six million Jews. Thus, St. Hillary’s people announced that the grand dame would not attend. A no-brainer? no brains; the excuse: Palin’s presence at the rally would make it “political” whereas Clinton’s presence presumably was ordained by the order of the universe, — and political deference and connections.
Indicating the lines of power in American politics, and in the crummy world of mainstream Jewish American politics, when informed of the great lady’s withdrawal, the Conference of Presidents immediately rescinded their invitation to candidate Palin who, unlike the other three horses in the race (McCain wants a Palestinian State) is a genuine supporter of a strong Israel. She is not about sexual politics, affirmative action (official government mandated racism and sexism), socialized medicine, abortion on demand, higher taxes to crush America and create a totalitarian world state, she is for retaining what’s left of American freedoms. As to the issue at hand, she is unambiguously for preventing the Persian regime from acquiring nuclear weapons capability.
This makes her anathema to the Democratic Party; and if its anathema to them, it’s anathema to the Conference of Presidents which is the “Stephen Wise” of our times, a “court Jew” who assures a gentile sovereign that abandoning or crushing Jews really is not so bad or not what it appears to be [1]. The cozy relationship of Mr. Obama to Khaled al-Mansour and the Saudi royal family should be well known as should the Hamas and PLO links in his background. The decades-long hostility to Israel of his running-mate, Senator Biden also is ignored by major media. It includes failing to affirm and honor “Israel’s quest for peace” (2007), declining to bar known terrorists from running in “Palestinian elections” and refusing to join eighty-nine of his colleagues in urging President Bush not to meet with Yasir Arafat while his terrorist violence against Israel continued [2]. Even these minimal “sense of the Senate” resolutions were too ‘pro-Israel’ for Joe Biden. But he was quite vigorous in pounding his desk, jabbing his finger at Menachem Begin and demanding that Jews get out of Judea and Samaria.
This relevant digression underscores the vicious partisan politics of Senator Clinton’s withdrawal from the rally against Ahmadinejad and his plans for Israel and the craven obedience of the pompous Conference of Presidents to her snub of Governor Palin. As noted above, this snub and rejection of an already planned bi-partisan statement against genocide was more important for Clinton than an appearance of parity with her younger counterpart in the other party.
This left Mr. Hoenlein and various Democratic Party apologists in the campaign and media to explain why Clinton’s behavior was not petty, selfish and partisan. The results were not pretty but far worse is the failure of a united, top level American protest against the appearance of this genocidal lunatic and his being honored at the opening session of the UN the forum for bashing America while floating schemes to drain its citizens of money for various do-gooder plans that enrich dictators, big foundations and bring near the tyranny of the kind of “New World Order” H.G. Wells long promoted, for example in a book of that name [3].
These nations are united by only one goal: 1) “to wipe Israel off the map” as Mr. Ahmadinejad has stated and is the goal of the UN’s “human rights commission” composed largely of Islamic states; or, if not quite that, 2) to bisect Israel with a “Palestinian” State that will create endless attrition and chaos in the land west of the Jordan River. Pundits, diplomats and politicians then will assure us that this ‘necessitates’ a NATO-EU protectorate which will cause rejoicing in the halls of “the New Israel” in Rome and bury the blessings and wonder that a sovereign Jewish State would bring the world. The cure for cancers went up the chimney at Auschwitz [4].
Mr. Ahmadinejad has termed Israel a “disease” and a “dead rat” that should be “annihilated.” The governments of Russia and China arm and train Iran toward this end while its finances are sustained by Germany, power of the EU. The State Department and its extension, the Democratic Party establishment counsels ‘patience’ and ‘engagement’ with Persia while it pursues it apocalyptic goal of extermination, regional and, to their minds, world conquest.
This entire tawdry and damaging episode has an instructive and potentially liberating aspect: it has exposed what makes Hillary run and what her priorities are; it has shown what matters to the Democratic Party establishment; it reveals the contempt of our the Federal government’s Executive Branch for Jewish life, at least in Israel and exposes the nature of our government’s “special relationship” with Israel: subjugating it. And it has shown the nature of the Conference of Presidents and how desperately the American Jewish community needs totally new and qualitatively different leadership, just as does Israel.
