Betrayal of Land-Trust then as Now

A decade of ongoing research by Aryeh King of Jerusalem has uncovered a betrayal of trust of Jewish land purchased by scores of thousands of Jews for settlement by Jews in the Promised Land. As elaborated in reports by Aaron Klein on World Net Daily the bait and switch has been worked by the Israel Lands Authority which became custodian for JNF-owned land after the liberation of Judea and Samaria in 1967. In 1948 Britain’s Arab armies had cleansed the Jewish heartland of Jews and barred Jewish settlement completing policies of the 1920s-30s. The JNF figures prominently, though in different ways both then and now. The role once played openly and shamefully by British officials is now played overtly, and with more unguent rhetoric by American officials. The intent remains the same.

In his magisterial study of Mandate politics and Jewish resistance, Lone Wolf: a Biography of Zev Jabotinsky, Samuel Katz describes a “new dimension of hostility toward Zionism” displayed and administratively imposed by the British beginning in 1929. In addition to continuing restrictions and suspensions of Jewish immigration this involved barring Jews from settling on increasing amounts of land west of the Jordan River even when these lands had been purchased by Jews. This included 5000 dunams (1250 acres) of land in Emek Hefer.

After ghettoizing the Jews west of the Jordan (a portent for our times) the British would transfer control of lands to absentee Arab landlords who then could sell some of them at inflated prices to Jews. Sometimes, as at Emek Hefer, British officials would encourage Bedouins to steal land Jews had thus bought hiding the theft and ghettoizing behind claims that there was no more arable land to be had and thus no more Jews, only Arabs could be allowed into “Palestine.”

The lands at Emek Hefer (Wadi Hawara) were bought by the JNF and receipts were given by the sellers. When the Bedouins, prompted by the British returned and drove off the Jewish farmers the British authorities told the Jews to leave. This was analogous to the policy that the Israeli government pursued with the Jews of Gush Katif as they endured five years of shelling and sniping (and as has been continuing for two-plus years at nearby cities and towns and farms) in the hope that they would leave before being dragged out (as the Jewish survivors of the Hebron massacre of 1929 were deported by the British).

In 1931, Mandatory High Commissioner Sir Arthur Wauchope demanded that the JNF lease the land to the Arabs or the British would confiscate it. Though the JNF had no legal mandate to lease the land to Arabs and though the Revisionist (genuine) Zionists noted this in protest, the official Zionist Executive, a model for the British-created and dominated Jewish Agency and most of the state organizations of today okayed the deal.

As the Road Map points to the Annapolis Conference and more ghettoizing of Jews on the way to the Round Table’s Arab Federation with its front door on the Mediterranean, there is another story from the thirties that shows how western powers enflamed and supported Arab rejection of Jews even when Arabs were willing to work with them.

Again the story involves ethnic cleansing of Jews from large parts of the Promised Land. By 1922, the British had severed the 77% of the Mandate east of the Jordan River and created a protectorate, the Emirate of Transjordan in which they installed Abdallah, son of the former Sharif of Mecca. By 1928 they had set him up with his own Legislative Council, a mini-parliament and a stipend. Equally important, the British assisted his tax-gathering from his new subjects with their armored cars and airplanes, “used for bombing recalcitrant villages.” That’s one way to stifle a tax revolt, especially in the provinces…

With an impoverished and illiterate populace already dwarfed by the rapidly developing lands of the Jews across the river, notwithstanding the handicaps placed on them by the British, Abdallah decided to lease his personal holding of 65,000 dunams in the Jordan River Valley to Jews. A formal agreement was signed by the Emir on January 3, 1933, a 99-year renewable lease with a “bonus payment” to the cash-hungry emir of five hundred pounds. He expressed his wish that the Jews “would be not only lessees but proprietors.” Soon his plan was joined by other sheiks “to lease or sub-lease to any Muslim, Christian or Jew” who would farm the land. When one member of the Legislative Council proposed banning Jews his proposal was voted down eleven to three.

Quoting from the Palestine Post (now the Jerusalem Post, the term “Palestine” used to refer to Jews and Jewish institutions) Katz notes that the British, committed to aborting the Jewish National Home whose establishment they were legally bound to facilitate, were shocked by “this expression of a broad consensus of the leaders of Transjordanian Arab society to encourage Jews to come and settle there” (Lone Wolf, 1318-28) [1]. They knew they could not legally bar the lease agreements – or the settlements – but by pressing the official Zionists with fears about “security” they gained agreement to wait a year. During this time they bought off and intimidated Abdallah and the other sheiks and faced down a series of withering questions and criticism from the 23rd Session of the Permanent Mandates Commission of the League of Nations in the Hague on June 27, 1933.

Note two tragic congruencies: the Jews would have begun settling Transjordan and making it bloom (the soil was rich but barren as Israel west of the Jordan had been) the same month that President Hindenburg appointed Adolph Hitler head of the unstable coalition government in Germany. The British intervened to block the long term lease-settlement plan at the very time that the first public, Nazi-prompted street violence against Jews was being perpetrated (March 28 – April 04, 1933, immediately after Hitler secured passage of the “Enabling Act” a month after its rationale, the Reichstag Fire, 2-27-33).

But British diplomats were not concerned about wrecking the League of Nations or lying and defying its commissions. This was to be its policy in matters large and small, often involving wars it could have stopped (in Ethiopia, in Spain, the German militarization of the Rhineland, etc) [2]. The League was no use to them so long as America was not linked to England and its global plans now pervaded by Germany and Russia. Indeed, the pending destruction and absorption of England by the EU may be seen as poetic or divine justice for its betrayal of European nations and law and the sadistic, long-term and genocidal betrayal of England’s responsibility to establish the Jewish National Home and “facilitate Jewish immigration and close settlement of Jews on the land.” Regarding this betrayal, Colonel John Henry Patterson wrote Churchill via Lord Lothian, “you may rest assured that if England continues her anti-Jewish policy England will be destroyed…  betrayed by a gang of pro-Nazi, neo-pagan officials, England’s curse…” [3].

This malicious betrayal has not changed though it has for the past four decades been led by Britain’s surrogate, American diplomatic-intelligence-financial leaders itself penetrated deeply by German and Vatican interests. And Allied leaders have placed their surrogates deep into nearly every aspect of Israel’s governance creating the conditions of depravity and treachery the sages foresaw for the end of days (Sanhedrin 94a-98b).

There is a remarkable persistence, call it an obsession about Western power shapers during the past century and more. They seem to embody Hegel’s remarks about the State being the march of god through history for they adore their own godlike powers to make and break and they employ Hegel’s theory of dialectically controlled and managed crises as the British displayed in South Africa and Zimbabwe in the 1890s, and in Europe and the Middle East in the 1920s-40s and ongoing.

There will be a world state just as Nimrod wanted for his Tower of Babel, just what Rome sought and in its current form seeks centered on its capitals in Rome, Brussels and Jerusalem. It has been made clear who the modern world and modernism want to bury even as artifacts from the First Temple are being unearthed by Islamic digging on the Temple Mount. The crisis is stoked and the ironies grow. The unity of integrity, memory and true freedom confronts the fake, imposed unity of collectivism including “collective security” required by an endless “war on terror.” True freedom means freedom to study, learn, speak, and act. If enough people exercise this freedom fully we may avoid the fourth beast one historian sees as the end of the West: “Universal Empire - Decay – Invasion: End of the civilization” [4].
