The release of the Iraq Study Group (ISG) Report on December 06 made clear that James A. Baker III was taking a cleaver to American resistance to jihad. The group’s recommendations have been pushed fervently. We are to engage apocalyptic jihadists instead of defeating them. Adopting Baker’s proposals would be like opening a meat locker to a pack of starving wolves.

The main joker in this deck is its proposal that America engage the jihadist regime in Iran in a dialog that, according to Baker’s “blue ribbon panel” would help us disengage painlessly from Mesopotamia and bring peace to the region. Closing our eyes to Shiite apocalyptic dogmas and the imperatives of jihad, Baker proposes giving the Butchers of Middle East virtually everything they want, — at Israel’s expense: the Golan Heights to Syria; a “Palestinian” terror state carved forthwith from Israel’s heartland; millions of Arabs “return” to their ostensible homes in Israel. Israel ceases to exist, America faces un-buffered jihad while multi-culturalists hog-tie its military and cripple its will. (more…)

The root of Hanukkah is the word, “grace.” Just as Judaism understands that grace, its light and love inform “dedication” (Hanukkah), so the numeric value of the Hebrew word for “grace” is fifty-eight, a number of urgent timeliness, ironies, surprises and promise.

Judaism teaches that there are six millennia of human history, each one corresponding to one of the six days of creation. We live in the last quarter of the sixth millennium that began in fall 1990. In that year, James Baker III began orchestrating the destruction of Israel and the Vatican “recognized” Israel. The events that will elicit and distinguish the seventh and crowning ‘day’ of history already have begun. On the geopolitical level this is readily observed. As Jews have returned and settled the land so long desolate, the major powers strain every muscle to uproot them.

“Surely the day of judgment is at hand…” and Mr. Baker fancies himself a greater judge than G-d. “Anarchy is loosed upon the world, the blood-dimmed tide” of jihad is loosed. 

A major increase in the re-unification of the land and people of Israel, the essential wedding will hasten redemption and the healing light of the Messianic era: “a river, its streams will gladden the city of G-d, the most sacred of the dwellings of the Most High.” As the Vatican activates its ‘assets’ and renews its putsch for dominion over Mt. Zion these lines leap from the page. While the stream of healing light may be delayed, it cannot be interdicted. The creation of the Jewish people is patterned on the creation of the universe. It is a process of separation, of fine discriminations, of the formation of integral identities that are distinctive in them selves and that become fully realized in an intact creation.

Studying the narrative of Genesis, one could say that G-d chose the people that chose Him, that recognized and turned to Him. Out of the darkness of violence (Hamas) and immorality, Noach was righteous and perfect in his generations; in the years of Nimrod and his Tower, Abraham perceived and honored the Creator and defied the tyrant of Mesopotamia. Working with Sarah to bring people to knowledge of the Eternal One, the Torah speaks of “all the souls they made” (v’et hanefesh asher asu) in Charan. Those who know some Hebrew will notice that the converts are referred to in the singular, hanefesh (literally, “the soul”) to indicate that they formed a distinct and integral group unified by their recognition, love and awe of the Creator. And Hashem separated them from the idolaters.

In the same way, the Children of Israel stood around Mt. Sinai “like a single man with a single heart” in the  pattern of their forefather and namesake, Jacob – Israel who arrived shaleim, “whole” back at Shechem from his service in Charan, shaleim at Shechem where Abraham had built the first altar to the Eternal One in the Promised Land.

The integrity of Israel the Land, the people, and their code, the Torah (“you shall not add to it nor shall you take away”) is central to the story of Hanukkah. In accordance with the principle that “the deeds of the fathers are a pattern for their descendants” it was a drama played out in the dynamics of Jacob and his sons, events that were the bridge that led Israel, the person and family into the crucible from which they emerged as “a kingdom of priests and a holy nation” to be a light to the nations, a role the Maccabees later fought to sustain. Elaborating a key motif of my writings since summer 2001 my next book will explain that the “war on terror” is part of a long-running war on the Jews. Recent events support this thesis.

The steady leakage of the Report of the Iraq Study Group culminating in its release and the spin-off of its CIA member, Robert Gates to be Secretary of Defense signal that America’s perennial diplomatic-intelligence-corporate leaders have struck our colors in the War on Terror. Like the UN we will talk with the house of Asad and the forerunner of the Mahdi. We will talk; they will laugh.

But how can one surrender in a war when no one knows who the enemy is (is it a tactic, an attitude?), knows who is “with us or against us” or even knows who “we” are?  Remember, no ‘racial profiling’ allowed, — except in affirmative action. This is the era of post-modernism, of the destruction of discrete personal and national identities; having debunked the idea of a soul, our academics have pontificated for decades that there is no genuine self, just will to power and the environment. Our terror films emphasize unstable and disintegrating identities and the ditzy, cliché-spouting plausible persons of the media, and those hypnotized by it increasingly resemble digitalized generic humanoids.

Instead of wholeness and integrity everything is to be torn apart, mixed and mad (the words are formed from the same root in Hebrew, the original and pure tongue of the people targeted by these diplomatic, cultural, economic and military assaults). (more…)

America is getting a new Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates who has just sent several signals to Iran, Israel and other nations closely involved with Iran’s war of terror (threats of annihilation) which is directed most openly against Israel, for now.

Mr. Gates has shown that he can be as obtuse as the Senators snoring through their pro forma confirmation questions to him. He agrees with Senators that Iran is pursuing atomic weapons capabilities and that its leaders are lying about this development, — no kidding. More importantly, he stated that no one can, certainly not he, new civilian head of the Armed Forces of America can provide assurance that Israel will not be nuked by Iran. That’s called an open invitation. He also claimed that Iran’s atomic program is “a deterrent against nuclear powers surrounding it, Pakistan in the east, Russia in the north, Israel to the West and us [America] in the Persian Gulf.”

Perhaps this fellow should be working for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Perhaps he is on their payroll, as the firm of James Baker III is of Saudi Arabia. (more…)
