In a time of trouble one cannot just step aside in disgust, fatigue or despair. To do this opens a way for bad forces to rush in. 

On February 01, 2006 the Olmert care-taker government sent masses of police, dozens of them mounted, to beat and trample Jews who were sitting and standing in front of nine Jewish homes to protest their impending destruction as part of the Bush-mandated Road Map. The homes were built on long-empty land within the Jewish town of Ofra, about eight miles north of Jerusalem. Many videos exist (see israelreporter.com or israelnationalnews.com) of the savage police riot that occurred, resulting in 350 injuries.

Since 2001, publicly, there has been a plan that diplomats, politicians and the media call “the Road Map”; it bans Jews from settling in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza area and requires the expulsion of most of the Jews already living there. The Jews in the Gush Katif areas (the 15% of the Gaza Strip seized by Egypt in 1948 and re-conquered by Israel in 1967) already have been expelled, their homes, farms, and synagogues flattened and burned. They now are bases for jihadists who launch rockets and ground attacks on Israel and plan to conquer the world.

When plans like the Road Map refer to or are inflicted upon (or allegedly inflicted on) other peoples (say Muslims in the Balkans) the West terms it “ethnic cleansing” and is prepared to go, and sometimes does go to war. But not in this case; on the contrary, Jews who in any way resist being expelled from their homes, or barred from living in the Promised Land are attacked by western-armed jihadists and the west’s client regime in Jerusalem that jails them without charges, beats them and expels them to do the will of their masters in “the Quartet.”

Just what is this “Quartet” that plays the role of super-Cossack or Brown Shirt in regard to the Jews of central Israel? It is interesting to examine the overlapping and incestuous relations of its members… (more…)

They say that seventy-six million people, the greatest number ever attended Major League Baseball games this year. That’s lovely and also poignant. Baseball is a game of great lucidity, poise and grace; of summer days not constrained by a clock but by its own wondrous structure of allowances based on threes and fours, diamonds, circles, grass and sky.

One could say that more and more people attend to escape the ugliness, urgencies, lack of purpose or redemption that increasingly fill our ‘real’ lives: the broken education system, the breaking health industry and employment situation; the seemingly invincible juggernaut of lawyer-world; the selling of goddess rapture, perversion… the multicultural and global marketing of lovely baseball itself, the snarling circus of lawyers, corporate sponsors, increased media hypnosis of the audience, and narcissism that hovers like a cloud over our spring and summer, now dimming toward fall.

From what do people increasingly seek refuge, not a few of them in the ancient truths of Scripture?
