The following excerpts were written in November 2002, nearing four years ago. They form part of the fifth chapter of my new book, Israel and the Endtimes: writings on the logic and surface turbulence of history (2006). It is sad but intriguing that these writings are prophetic in their discussion of the dangerous and suicidal fakery of the “war on terror� as waged by America, its ‘coalition partners,’ then PM Sharon in Israel and by the current regime in Israel today.

It is my hope that all people who truly desire peace (which requires victory over the enemy) and the restoration of America and Israel will read this book and internalize the history and lessons it has to teach. Much still may be saved. The realization of the most beautiful of dreams still can displace the nightmare in which we have been living and the war being waged on, but not yet by — Israel.

The chapter (“Deadly Two-step of War on Terror�) begins by commenting on the then very recent murder and wounding of dozens of Jews as they walked home from evening services at Machpela Cave, the prayer halls built above the resting place in Hebron of the patriarchs and matriarchs of Israel.

“In covering the atrocity, CNN – AOL described the Arabs of Hebron as ‘devout’ and the Jews who live there as ‘extremists.’

“These lies and this most recent slaughter of Jewish civilians casts in bold relief the deadly agenda and failures of the ‘war on terror,’… a phrase that has dwindled into a slogan and a cliché for an old and ugly game: emptying Jews from the heartland of Israel and then driving them from most of the rest of their ancient nation…

“In tandem with this dangerous game… are repeated attempts to strip away the civil liberties of Americans in the name of ‘Homeland Security.’ This is the ‘second foot’ coming down in the deadly two-step of the war on terror.

“Recall Senator Phil Gramm’s succinct prescription for a genuine war on terror:

‘I don’t want to change the way I live,’ he said. ‘I want to change the way they live.’ To date the Bush administration and congress have largely done the opposite. They have ceded tactical victory to imperialist Islam while demanding that Americans refrain even from criticizing it. Thus the [9/11] terrorists inflicted not only massive damage on American life, hope and property, they baffled and humiliated it as well, facts perceived on the Arab ‘street.’ …

“Saudi Arabia and Egypt which provided respectively most of the money and most of the personnel for anti-western and anti-Israel violence are the first and third largest recipients of American military aid… Americans are paying the enemies attacking it and attacking Israel, the West’s cultural taproot and its first line of defense against global jihad… this leads imperialist Islam to have more contempt for and to plan further attacks on the west.

“Instead of a terrible swift sword against our enemies in the Arab world, the current administration, like its predecessors, Democrat and Republican has mostly engaged in endless public statements and warnings whose main audience, or rather, target is the American people. The endless, numbing ‘alerts’ about ‘imminent’ or ‘spectacular’ terror strikes are like junk science intended to panic the public and to make even the thought of American military might a source of anxiety instead of proud assurance [n.b. this process has been tested for decades in Israel by both Israeli and American politicians and media]… In this context, Homeland Security will not change the way Arabs live but it will terribly damage American life at its roots… government will act more and more like a jealous, capricious and unforgiving god, like Zeus or Dionysus, or Hera…

“While the Administration dithers [now about Iran and Korea] virtually inviting a first strike it also makes clear to Israel that it must, as always, ‘exercise restraint’ when Jews are murdered by Arabs… President Bush is enchained to the State Department’s road map to a Palestinian State in Israel’s heartland though PLO maps long have effaced Israel entirely from its maps…

“In sum, it seems that the two real goals of the current ‘War on Terror’ are the old British-Arab dream of creating another Arab state in the heartland of Israel [Judea and Samaria], thus stripping the Jewish people of their holiest sites; and, 2, not coincidentally enabled an increased export of terrorism. This in turn will justify pushing through a National Security State in America that in this point in history can be accomplished better by a superficially patriotic Republican Administration than by a Democratic one. Once the oversight apparatus is in place, the Clinton crowd will return to put it brutally into practice….

“The joker in this deck, the greatest obstacle to this nightmare is the faith and courage of those Jews who know their people’s history and honor its promise and who persist, against the greatest of odds in returning to and settling their land…

“If America truly is to make war on terror it will destroy the terror-supporting states that are well known and very vulnerable to us… And finally the American Executive Branch will get out of the way while Israel finds true leadership to defeat decisively the enemies arrayed against it. Only then will there be genuine peace and a western civilization not fighting against itself and its roots but lovingly attached to them.�
